MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

TR Toppers is national food processing company located in Pueblo, CO. We specialize in processing name brand candies and other types of inclusions that are used in a variety of food products, such as ice creams and cakes, and shipped throughout the company. We are a progressive family owned business and we are rapidly growing.

SUMMARY:
This position ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines. Responsible for following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications and troubleshooting malfunctions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Respond to repair requests of production equipment and building equipment.
•  Perform preventive maintenance tasks on all machinery.
•  Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
•  Inspects machinery for proper function and diagnoses machinery malfunctions; performs electrical or mechanical                    troubleshooting to determine problems with non-functioning  machinery.
•  Dismantles, adjusts, repairs, and assembles  machinery according to blueprints, operating or  repair manuals, and     schematics.
•  Comply with plant safety rules, GMP’s and OSHA standards.
•  Support the Production Department in order to manufacture safe, quality products.
•  Performs other duties as assigned or required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have mechanical/technical aptitude.
• Experience in all areas of electrical   maintenance, including 3 phase motors and variable frequency drives and controls   and troubleshooting.
• Experience in welding.
• Extensive knowledge of Vertical Form Fill bagging equipment, weighing equipment, dicing equipment and conveying.
• The successful candidate must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
   

WORK SCHEDULE:
40 hours a week – Monday to Friday – (Must be able and flexible to working various shifts including nights, weekends, and overtime to meet the needs of the company).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•  Experience with Fabrication and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding with stainless steel to ensure a food safe surface.
•  5 years of recent work experience performing maintenance in food production facility or like industry.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIRED FOR BEING SUCCESSFUL IN POSITION:
•  Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
•  Ability to write reports, correspondence, and provide input into procedure manuals.
•  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and others as needed.
•  Ability to apply mathematical, statistical and scientific principles used in food industry. Ability to calculate figures and    amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
•  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
•  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited    standardization exists.
•  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
•  Equipment maintenance, electrical knowledge, general plant maintenance.
•  Must be self-starter and ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
•  Must be able to work in a team setting to include a strong personal accountability, and the ability to build excellent working     relationships with a tem.
•  Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
•  Excellent interpersonal skills.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 or more pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 or more pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
