Quality Assurance Supervisor


SUMMARY: Supervise all of quality assurance employees and ensure all food safety policy and procedures are being followed

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following:

Provide technical information to customers, consumers and company employees as needed.

Hire, Train and discipline Quality Assurance Technicians and Quality Assurance Associates.

Participate in cross training with other company functions.

Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/ REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervise Technical services department personnel and other company personnel performing technical services functions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Natural Science, Chemistry or Biology.
Experience in the food, medical or chemical industry with a minimum of two years supervisory experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret technical documents in English. Ability to write technical reports and formal correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply mathematical, statistical and scientific principles used in food industry.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
HACCP, GMP training and certification preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to use computer systems. Efficient in Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The production rooms are loud and when the lab equipment is running the lab can be loud.
